The fourth dimension of the paintings of 

Osvaldo Licini and Mario Vespasiani

After the exhibition in 2008 entitled The fourth dimension of the paintings of Mario Schifano (1934-1998) and Mario Vespasiani (1978) that marked the first stage of an articulate project, the present exhibition is the second proposal of dialogue between two painters.

Through the selection of works one can accept how alchemy in the painting practice is united to a deep mystery in the space created in the surface area of the picture, which can reaffirm the will to not reveal the secrets of the world, only indicating how many new solutions there are to decipher it.

Licini and Vespasiani have perceived and realized the enigmas that surround their vital space "putting on stage" with courage a new method to confront them.The great originality of these two painters is in the fact that they present their works using the method of deciphering and decoding the world.

The paintings really move in that fourth dimensional space where in a perennial atmosphere, balanced between heaven and earth, the causes and effects are exchanged and where the restrictions of the canvas give the impression of watching the paradox of time overturned.

Therefore, this exhibition is a reflection on the elusive aspects of daily life, calling to the spectator an opportunity to live fully the events and "create an experience".
